I must be doing something wrong then.

to re-derive I choose to EDIT ITEM

then I go to the ITEM MANANGER

Then I click the DERIVE button.

Is there another step I am missing or I am I doing it wrong?

(Or maybe I am just impatient and it takes a while)

Yes, it's not instantaneous...the process deletes all existing mp3/ogg/m3u/zip files and regenerates them. Usually an hour or so.

so you do not need to delete the mp3 files first to rederive and update the player?
